MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--Anne and Kevin Myers own and operate the Minuteman Press franchise in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and they were absolutely thrilled when thousands of readers of The Myrtle Beach Herald voted them to be the top printing business in the area. After leaving the insurance industry behind 2.5 years ago and starting their new career paths together as Minuteman Press franchisees, an honor such as this Readers’ Choice Award was merely another affirmation that they made the right decision.

“Anne and Kevin have worked extremely hard over the past couple of years and I could not be prouder of them,” said David Walton, Minuteman Press Regional Vice President for the Carolinas. “They have the two most important qualities of successful owners in that they are both hardworking and have such positive attitudes.”

We caught up with Anne Myers to ask her about this award, her Minuteman Press experience, and the how she transitioned from selling insurance to owning her own business:

Hi Anne, Congratulations! What does it mean to you to be recognized by your customers in Myrtle Beach and to receive the Reader’s Choice Award?

Anne Myers: It is very satisfying to know that our clients voted us as 2015 Best Printer. We are pleased that they are happy with our service and the quality of our work.

What’s the biggest difference between your previous career and being a franchise owner with Minuteman Press?

Anne Myers: We really like having something tangible to sell!  Plus, my husband and I get to work together, growing our business collaboratively.  We don't have to go to 5 meetings a day to run our operation.

What has the support you’ve received from Minuteman Press meant to you?

Anne Myers: The resources provided by Minuteman allow us to provide broader services at competitive prices regardless of the job, and the advice and support we receive on any given job, equipment purchases, business acquisitions, or anything else are all extremely helpful to us!

Why did you choose to franchise with Minuteman Press?

Anne Myers: The training and support that was provided to us when we first acquired the store exceeded my expectations.  Two plus years later, we get excellent support at the corporate level and local level.  We see our Regional Vice President David Walton and local field team representative Jeff Lewis once per month and talk to them more often than that on a variety of subjects including lease agreements, equipment we are considering, and more. We also use David and Jeff as resources for specialty jobs and also appreciate all of their sales advice. On top of all of that, they play a major role in training our new employees on software and anything else as needed.
