Long John Silver's Franchise Info

Long John Silver's was formerly a public company, traded in the over-the-counter market under the name Jerrico Inc.

In 1989, senior management and a New York investment firm acquired Jerrico and its subsidiaries in a leveraged buyout. A year later, the new, privately held company divested itself of three other restaurant concepts to devote its full resources to the operation of Long John Silver's.It is now known exclusively by its popular branded name, Long John Silver's Restaurants Inc.

In 1999, the company merged with A&W Restaurants, which resulted in the creation of Yorkshire Global Restaurants. The combined companies operate more than 2,270 restaurants in 47 states and 22 countries with combined sales in excess of $1.1 billion.

In fiscal 1998, the company had system-wide sales of nearly $800 million‚ approximately sixty percent of the nation's estimated $1.4 billion quick-service seafood business.

WE HAVE OUR OWN NICHE!
