The
Pita Pit is where the future is in quick service. We are the next
link in the evolutionary chain. We are beyond burgers, fries, pizza,
and doughnuts. Pitas are exotic. The Pita Pit is a cool place where
the staff knows your name.
Founded in 1995
near the campus of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario,
Canada, The Pita Pit was a quick service restaurant with a new
and unique approach. The Pita Pit was founded on the premise that
people wanted a place that was healthy, fresh, and fast, with a
friendly informal atmosphere and a varied and flavorful menu. The
founders began by defining a very specific customer group. Then
they created a meal experience based on grilled meat, fresh vegetables,
zesty sauces and a pita shell of their own design, folded in a
unique way. Following this, they developed an operation to deliver
it all in a convenient and efficient manner.
When we first
started, our primary customers were college students and young
professionals seeking a healthy food alternative. They required
not only a lunch and dinner meal, but also a snack after the theater
or movie, or even after a late night at the bars. Taste, convenience,
accessibility and quick service continue to be essential for this
group. Over the last ten years, however, people of all ages
and professions have come to love The Pita Pit.
