Quality Since 1917

The Greenville, S.C.-based Duke Sandwich Company was founded in 1917 by Eugenia Duke. Originally a wholesale company, Duke Sandwich provided homemade sandwiches to the local textile mills and various drug store chains. In the 1960’s, the company was sold to Loran and Estaleen Smart who expanded the already thriving wholesale market, and by the 1970’s, Loran and Estaleen’s son, Richard, began to transform the company into a combination wholesale/retail business. Today, under the leadership of Andrew Smart, Duke Sandwich operates three retail locations and the recently launched Duke Sandwich Franchising, Inc.
